The Nobel Prize in Physics 2017

This year's Nobel Prize for Physics has been awarded to three US scientists, Rainer Weiss, Barry Barish and Kip Thorne, for their work on Gravitational Waves. According to Prof. Weiss, the award of the prize is really a recognition of 1000 people, working on wave detection.

This group from Laser Interferometric Gravitational-wave observation (LIGO) has two members from IISER-Kolkata: Dr. Rajesh K. Nayak and his student Anuradha Samajdar.
