5 years Integrated B.S - M. S Programme
A complete education in the basic sciences as well as advanced knowledge in a major subject area supplemented by cutting-edge research experience. Students will be continuously evaluated instead of the conventional single exam evaluation.

In the first two years, there are comprehensive core courses in all areas of basic sciences, viz., mathematical, chemical, physical, biological, and earth sciences. In addition to this, there are also courses on allied topics such as space & astrophyscial sciences, computational sciences, electronics and instrumentation, humanities & scocial sciences.
In the third and fourth years, students have to choose a major subject from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Earth Science, and may also take optional interdisciplinary courses, e.g., engineering sciences and humanities / social sciences.
The fifth year is completely devoted to full time research/technical project/specialized training in which the students will have to write a dissertation.At the end of the fifth year a B.S - M.S dual degree will be awarded by IISER-Kolkata.
