Research
Interest
Our
research activity is mainly in the area of experimental optics and
spectroscopy
with special emphasis on biomedical optics and spectroscopy
(biophotonics). The studies involve (i) exploration of various
optical spectroscopic approaches for probing biological systems and
other
complex systems, (ii) developing optical modalities for imaging through
turbid
medium. A significant component of our research is also devoted on
(iii) basic theoretical
and experimental studies on polarization (Mueller matrices, Stokes
vectors,
Jones matrices) and coherence characteristics of scattered light, their
dependence on the morphological properties of the scattering medium,
(iv) development
of suitable model (Monte Carlo simulations, radiative transport theory,
diffusion approximation) for propagation of light in random medium.
