This is an intermediate course in physics. It will provide students with an introduction to basics of electromagnetism and optics. It will make use of the basics of vector analysis and differential equation theory intorduces in MA1101 and MA1201.
 Classical Mechanics: Angular momentum and torque, Conservation, Rotational dynamics  simple examples, Equilibria, Small oscillations (if time permits), Central force, Kepler's problem.
 Quantum Mechanics: Wave functions, Expectation values and Operators. The significance of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. The relation between the time dependent and time independent Schrodinger equations. Stationary states. The Simple Harmonic Oscillator (via the wave function approach) the Hydrogen atom, SternGerlach experiment and Spin.
 Basic Particle Physics: Fundamental interactions and Overview of the Standard model (qualitative).
