Part I: Ordinary Differential Equations
1. First Order Equations: Linear equations, integrating factor, Bernoullis Equation. Clairauts Equation. 2. Second Order Equations: Linear equations with constant coefficients, general solutions, non-homogenous equations, complementary function and particular integral. Linear equations with variable coefficients, reduction to the cannonical form. Power series solutions. 3. Stability: Basic introduction to the stability of solutions. Part II: Fourier Series 1. Elementary Introduction to Fourier Series: Fourier coefficients, Fourier series of a function, summation of series using Fourier series. Part III: Partial Differential Equations. 1. Separation of variables: Solution of partial differential equations by method of separation of variables with special emphasis on the Laplace/Poisson Equation. Part IV: Probability & Statistics 1. Probability: Events, notion of probability, conditional probability, independence, Bayes theorem. 2. Statistics: Mean, median, mode. Variance. Correlation and regression. |
