In this talk, I will present a study of observable neutrinoless double beta (0νββ) decay and viable low-scale leptogenesis within an extended inverse seesaw model. While effective field theory considerations suggest a tension between detectable 0νββ decay signals and thermal leptogenesis, we demonstrate that it is possible to achieve both the observed baryon asymmetry of the universe and detectable 0νββ decay in this framework. Sterile neutrinos can significantly enhance the 0νββ decay rate while suppressing the washout of lepton asymmetry. We highlight that future ton-scale 0νββ experiments could offer key experimental signals while preserving viable leptogenesis for sterile neutrinos in the keV-MeV range. |
