| Details: | Ion traps have become indispensable tools in modern physics, enabling exquisite control over charged particles for a wide range of frontier experiments. They lie at the heart of advances in quantum computing, precision spectroscopy, and the most precise atomic clocks. This talk will discuss our work on developing Penning and Paul trap systems for precision control of ions and electrons, including the realization of an electron trap in India and collaborative efforts aimed at ion-trap-based quantum computation. We will also explore experiments involving electron–positron interactions, as well as applications of ion traps in high-precision frequency measurements developement of a Quantum Processor. Together, these efforts highlight how ion trapping provides a versatile platform that bridges fundamental quantum physics and emerging quantum technologies. |
