| Details: | Topological phases in condensed matter physics can be broadly categorized into groups with short-range entanglement (SRE) and long-range entanglement (LRE). While the former is characterized by gapped bulk properties, the latter characterized by presence of intrinsic topological order are known to exhibit more exotic properties as topologically dependent degenerate ground states, fractional excitations and so on. Gapless boundary states are known to appear for both the categories and are protected by symmetry for SRE and by intrinsic topological order for LRE respectively. In this talk, I will discuss entanglement measures (entropy and spectra) for systems with a) symmetry protected topological (SPT) phase, and b) intrinsic topological order and show how the gapless edge states influences the qualitative behaviour of these measures. |
