Research Interest:

    I am a condensed-matter theorist interested in exploring how low-dimensionality, strong correlations and quantum fluctuations give rise to novel emergent states of matter in quantum condensed matter systems. Some recent examples include 1. understanding the nature of edge state transport in an inhomogeneous quantum Hall state 2. how competing charge-density wave (CDW) and superconducting orders can coexist in a stripe-based picture of a high-TC superconductor 3. the way in which frustrated interactions and critical quantum fluctuations push the dimensional crossover and insulator-to-metal transitions in organic charge-transfer systems 4. orbital-mediated frustration of spin order in orbitally active systems and the search for a quantum orbital-spin liquid 5. studying transport through Andreev bound states in graphene contacted with superconducting leads 6. simulating multichannel Kondo physics in ultra-cold bosonic systems 7. understanding the consequences of charge fractionalisation in a 1D strongly correlated electronic system.
