A short course on Supramolecular
Crystallography and Soft-oxometalates
...........................................................................................................................................
Overview
Supramolecular sciences and Soft-matter sciences have led to unprecedented development and discoveries in recent times. Of these
discoveries, the development of understanding of crystallization and that of supramolecular crystallography is of immense
importance. This short course will develop the basics of supramolecular sciences and soft-matter, by giving an overview of phases and
introduce concepts of understanding structure from thermodynamics and studying of crystallization. Supramolecular crystallography
will be introduced and dealt with in deep details. Supramolecular phenomenon of gelation from the standpoint of soft-matter sciences
as a model system to understand and model emergence, with a special reference to the model system of surfactants, micelles and
soft-oxometalates (SOMs) will be discussed.
Course participants will learn these topics through lectures and hands-on workshop on writing publications and setting up
entrepreneurial ventures centered around these topics and science in general.
