Hi there,

I am Rajesh Kumble Nayak, a faculty member in the Department of Physical Sciences at IISER Kolkata. My research interests span gravitational wave data analysis, general relativity, and relativistic astrophysics. I also enjoy exploring mathematical and computational physics, and sharing my curiosity for the cosmos through teaching and collaborative science.
Outside of my academic pursuits, I have a deep interest in hands-on science, open-source software, and creative learning. Whether building small telescopes, experimenting with rockets, or discussing the philosophy of science, I believe in learning by doing. I also enjoy music, photography, and comics — a reminder that curiosity doesn’t stop at the lab door.
Our younger days were fortunate times. There was no pressure of exams, and we had plenty of time to have fun. I spent my time pursuing various hobbies.

Schooling and Educaion
I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.

Schooling is also fun; it is where you meet people, make friends, and sometimes even enemies. Education will always remain incomplete without schooling; it is a valuable experience. You cannot pursue an academic career without embarking on a long journey through different educational institutions. Here is my journey:
