Summer Camp Overview

The Summer Camp 2026 Program is designed to encourage students to explore interdisciplinary learning, research exposure, innovation, and collaborative academic engagement.

Why Summer Camp?

The objective of this summer camp is to nurture scientific curiosity, provide hands-on exposure to emerging fields, and inspire students to pursue academic excellence and research.

Summer Camp Opportunities

Participants will gain exposure to workshops, laboratory visits, interactive lectures, innovation challenges, and networking opportunities with faculty members and peers.

Our vision is to build an inclusive academic platform that empowers students through experiential learning, critical thinking, and collaborative knowledge sharing.

Transport & Accommodation

Transport to IISERK

The IISER Kolkata (Mohanpur campus, Nadia) is approximately 40-50 km away from the city centre, Kolkata. The most convenient starting points to reach IISER Kolkata from the city centre are:

1. Kolkata Airport (Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport)
2. Sealdah Railway Station
3. Howrah Railway Station
4. Kolkata Station (Chitpur)
Once the participants arrive at any of these locations, IISER Kolkata will arrange local transportation for their journey to the Institute campus.

Accommodation

For the student participants, accommodation will be arranged in the Nivedita Hall Girls’ (NH Girls’) and Nivedita Hall Boys’ (NH Boys’) hostels, respectively. Accompanying teachers will be provided with guest house accommodation on a sharing basis (2 persons per room). Meals will be served at the IISER Kolkata Students’ Canteen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to apply to participate in the Summer Camp?

There is no explicit application process. The participants, particularly from Classe XI and Class XII of Kendriya Vidyalaya across the seven North-Eastern states of India, are selected in collaboration with the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS).

Will I need to arrange travel of my own?

Train/Air travel to and from Kolkata will be borne by the respective schools. However, upon arrival, IISER Kolkata will arrange local transportation between the airport/railway stations and the Institute Campus.

Will I be supported for travel/boarding/lodging/food expenditure?

Boarding, lodging, local transportation, and meals for participating students and accompanying teachers will be provided by IISER Kolkata in accordance with the Institute's norm.

Will I get accommodation?

Yes, the selected participants will be provided with on-campus hostel accommodation.

What essential things should I carry?

All participating students and accompanying teachers MUST carry valid School/Institution Identity Cards during travel and throughout the duration of the camp. Please also carry personal essentials, notebooks, and prescribed medicines, if any.

Who can accompany me?

As the accompanying persons, only teachers from the corresponding School/Institute are allowed unless prior permission is granted by the organizers.
