About TCS 2021

The 17th Theoretical Chemistry Symposium (TCS 2021) is scheduled to be held online between December 11-14, 2021 under the joint auspices of IISER Kolkata, IACS Kolkata, University of Kalyani and S.N Bose National Centre For Basic Sciences Kolkata. Ever since the first meeting of the series was held in the picturesque city of Chandigarh in 1986, organized by Panjab University this biennial event has grown into a well recognized and much appreciated platform where theoretical and computational chemists of every hue from India and Abroad congregate once in two years to present their latest research work, share information and insight, exchange views and ideas and define the ever expanding horizon of Theoretical Chemistry.

TCS 2021 has been programmed to focus on the rapidly developing and freshly emerging areas of theoretical and computational chemistry in all its splendour with emphasis on fundamental developments in electronic structure theories and quantum dynamics and their significant applications, statistical mechanics and soft condensed matter theories in chemical context, surface mediated events, biology inspired methods, etc. Several well known experts from across India and abroad are expected to address the meeting and enlighten the participants.

A strong presence of young researchers, Ph D and M Sc students has become a distinctive feature of the TCS series. In keeping with that tradition organizers of TCS 2021 have earmarked adequate number of time slots for presentation by young researchers, and enough time and space for poster sessions where experts and budding theoreticians can interact meaningfully.
