About FIMB-2023


Frontiers in Modern Biology (FIMB) is the flagship symposium organized by the Department of Biological Sciences, IISER Kolkata since 2011. FIMB-2023 will be the 7th edition of this symposium to be held in our green campus at Mohanpur, West Bengal on JANUARY 20-22, 2023. The symposium aims to provide a broad platform for insightful discussions on diverse topics in modern biology, "from Molecules to Systems". FIMB-2023 will enable the budding researchers to showcase their work and expose them to the cutting-edge science conducted by eminent experts across the country. We are looking forward to your enthusiastic participation in FIMB-2023.


About the Department

The Department of Biological Sciences at IISER Kolkata integrates cutting edge research with innovative teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Department fosters a vibrant and interdisciplinary research atmosphere supported by state-of-the-art instrumentation facilities. This is a dynamic place for nurturing the next generation of scientists and for developing research programs directed towards answering various outstanding questions in biology.
