| Structural Geology Laboratory
Course Content Stereographic projections, plotting of planes and lines, solving simple problems.Interpretation of maps from simple to complexly-deformed areas. Interpretation of geological maps, generation of structure cross-sections, and deciphering of tectonic histories; Preparation of Geological maps and sections. Recording and plotting of field dataProblems on netslip and separation FIELD TRIP: The class will be taken to at least one week field trip where they will study deformation features and prepare a lithological and structural map of a chosen area. |
