Pre-requisite: ES2201 (Mineralogy)
Introduction: A mineralogy laboratory course designed to compliment mineralogy lecture. The lab emphasizes hand sample and optical identification of rock forming and ore minerals.

Course Content
Identification of rock forming and ore minerals in hand specimen, understanding crystal morphology and symmetry using crystal models, the use of the petrographic microscope, and the identifying characteristics of common minerals in thin section.
