ES3101 | Advanced Structural Geology | Kathakali Bhattacharyya |
Preamble |
---|
Lithospheric plate movements result in directed stress fields, causing rocks to deform at various scales. The objectives of this course are to identify the signatures of deformation in shallow crustal rocks from regional to microscopic scale, and also to understand the causative mechanisms of deformation at these different scales of observations. The course is designed to give an overview of the geometry and kinematics of various structural architectures associated with different tectonic settings. |
