6. Theories of reaction rates: bimolecular reactions, rate coefficient, activation energy, potential energy surfaces, trajectory methods and transition state theory. Qunatum mechanical effects. Introduction to RRK and RRKM theories.

7. Applications: photochemistry, solution kinetics, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis and enzyme kinetics

8. Microscopic to Macroscopic: Relation between rate constant and reaction cross-section.
