| Preamble |

| A student can perform an independent study under a DMS faculty. There will be two written examinations: mid-sem and final. The entire grade for the course will be based on these two exams, each with 50% weightage. The course should be initiated for each individual student by a mutual consent between the student and the faculty member. A syllabus for each independent study shall be communicated by the advisor to the student and the course co-ordinator(s) within one week of initiation of classes. |
