Preamble
This lab course will provide the students with hands on experience on how to synthesis inorganic
complexes/materials and characterize using techniques and other methods which they learn from
the theory courses.

Syllabus
1. Synthesis, photophysical and electrochemical characterization of a transition metal
complex (3 days)
2. Synthesis of Cu(I) using comproportionation reaction (1 day)
3. Acetylation of Ferrocene (2 days)
4. Electrochemical analysis of acetaminophen (2 days)
5. Synthesis and characterization of luminescent material (containing d or f block metals)
(2 days)
