Syllabus :
Analysis of the digital elevation model to comprehend tectonics in the Earth's collisional and extensional regions. 2. Introduction of surface analysis software QGIS to the students and experience the satellite images and prepare maps of interesting themes. 3. Recognising open system behavior and assessing its implications for radiometric dating: developing mixing relations for isotope ratios and elemental concentrations, making sense of actual data based on the case studies. 4. Analysis of time series of mean annual temperatures to distinguish signals from natural variability 5. Modes of preservation: study of different types of preservations; completeness of fossil record: quantification of completeness in the fossil record 6. Assessment of water quality: Measurement of real-time parameters of natural waters such as pH, Total dissolved solids, Oxidation-reduction potential, Turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and residual chlorine. |
