The course is designed to train students with practical skills essential for handling bacterial cultures, analyzing growth patterns, and extrachromosomal manipulation.

Preparation of Bacterial growth media, Bacterial growth curve, Preparation of competent cells, Plasmid DNA isolation by Alkaline lysis, Transformation, Conjugation, Restriction digestion.
Quantifying sex ratio across generations and estimation of incidence of diabetes in pedigrees.
Test of preference for symmetry in human faces, in the context of sexual selection.
