- What are the areas in which this winterschool will mainly focus? This year we will be concentrating on Bio-photonics and Bio-imaging.
- Is it mandatory for the transaction to be via electronic means? Yes it is. On exceptional cases we may allow on-spot registration, where one need to pay the required amount in cash in the registration desk. But in order to avail such facility you need to send your informations via email to spie.iiserk@iiserkol.ac.in.
- Why do I need to provide my SPIE ID number(if any)? As the SPIE members are going to get fee waiver (Rs 1000 for SPIE members), so in order to verify your SPIE membership, SPIE ID number is needed.
- Where do I get my registration number? Login to your SPIE account. Click on ‘view your account’ . Under the heading of‘Memberahip Status’ you will find your SPIE ID.
- Why do I require a SPIE profile web link? For verification of your profile.
- Where do I get my profile link? Go to the SPIE homepage (www.spie.org), type your name in the search box and make a search.
- How to reach IISER-Kolkata? Click on ‘venue’ in this site.
- Will there be any financial support for travel? We will be providing financial support to 50 participants from outside of Kolkata. The selection will be based on the basis of candidates Statement of Purpose (SOP). This support can only be used for covering the round trip travel expenses for attending the school. The support amount can be anywhere between 800 INR to 1500 INR, depending on participant's merits.The names of the travel support awardees will be declared on December 10th, 2013.Note: The travel support amount will ONLY be reimbursed on presentation of authorized travel tickets. No advance amounts will be given under any circumstances.
- Will there be any transport facility? We are still working on that. Once finalized we will notify every registrants.
- Where will be our accomodation provided? We will accommodate every participants in IISER Kolkata hostel. Mattress will be provided.
