Outreach Activities
# Prof. Sayan Bhattacharyya was invited as an expert in the live programme, Bigyan Prasange (Science Awareness Programme) on 18 October 2023 on Doordarshan Bangla Channel. The programme was on the future of nanotechnology and quantum dots, in the context of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2023. For the School Students:
# Dr. Sayan Bhattacharyya attended the Institute outreach activity with Dr. Prasun Mandal in demonstrating fascinating chemistry experiments to school students at the 19th National Exhibition with the theme: Make in India - Our Commitment to the Nation, organized by Central Calcutta Science and Culture Organization for Youth at Baranagar, Kolkata, India during 09-13 September, 2015. The team of BS-MS and IPhD students performed ten experiments in front of the school students.
# Dr. Sayan Bhattacharyya was the coordinator of the outreach activity of visiting the schools at different districts of West Bengal by the faculty members of the Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER-K, to celebrate the International year of Chemistry, 2011, and 150th Birth Anniversary of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray. The motto was to popularize chemistry among school students, by delivering popular Chemistry lectures, and to demonstrate chemical experiments, so that they can be encouraged to pursue higher education and research in science. The programme spanned from November 2010 up to May 2011.
# Dr. Bhattacharyya was also a member of the organizing committee of the chemical demonstration show entitled 'Chemical Curiosities' by Professor Herbert W. Roesky (University of Goettingen, Germany) on February 09, 2011 at the main auditorium, Science City, Kolkata, where Prof. Roesky demonstrated captivating chemical experiments in front of the delighted 1500 school students. Dr. Swadhin Mandal was the chief coordinator of the event.
