Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata organized Institute Open Day on the occasion of National Science Day on 27 February 2026. The programme was conducted through a series of academic, scientific, and outreach activities aimed at promoting scientific temper, curiosity, and innovation among students and young learners.
Prof. Suman Chakraborty, Director of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, attended the event as the Chief Guest and delivered a popular science talk titled “Science Without Walls: Convergent Research for a Living, Complex and Transforming World.” Swami Atmapriyananda, Pro-Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and delivered an illuminating talk titled “The Wonder of Science.” Prof. Narayan Chakraborty, Padma Shri awardee, attended the programme as the Special Guest.
The programme included exhibitions, demonstrations of scientific models and displays, and poster presentations highlighting ongoing research at the Institute. Students from various schools and colleges participated in the programme with great enthusiasm.
