My research focuses in studying the crust and upper mantle structure of the Earth and its relation to tectonic deformation. This involves deployment of broadband seismographs as permanent stations and temporary arrays to record earthquake data from a range of distances. The recorded data are analysed using a variety of seismological techniques (a) to understand earthquake faulting, (b) to obtain seismic velocity structure and (c) to understand attenuation characteristics of the crust and upper mantle.
