The ability to perceive, integrate, and process environmental cues such as light and temperature is key for plant growth and survival. Ambient temperature, in other words, seasonal changes in temperature, plays a prime role in plant growth and reproduction, and adaptation in long-run. It is known that elevated ambient temperatures significantly advance the life cycle of the plants by accelerating vegetative and reproductive transitions. However, the underlying signalling mechanism are not well understood. Using Arabidopsis and Rice as model, we are interested in exploring the mechanisms of temperature signalling integration and gene regulation. Also, we are interested in how temperature signalling cross - talk with light signalling pathways, using combination of genetic, genomics, and biochemical approaches.
