Research Interest:
Saptarshi's research aims to identify the cause-effect relationships among the variables of any black-box system where we can measure the state of each individual variable independently but can not observe the interdependencies between the variables. Human brain for example; we can measure the state of each neuron individually but do not know which neuron triggers which other neuron. Examples of similar systems are biological cells, meteorological units, astrophysical entities, recommender engines, and financial securities markets.
