(A). Postdoctoral position (2 No.) in the Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata
Eligibility: The applicant must have obtained PhD degree from a recognized University/ Institute in India or abroad. Those who have submitted their PhD thesis and are awaiting award of the degree are also eligible to apply, on producing a thesis submission certificate. However, such candidates, if selected, will be offered lower fellowship amount till they qualify the eligible degree or till he/she produces at least a provisional certificate of successful thesis defense. A candidate may also apply if his/her supervisor certifies that the thesis will be submitted before the joining date. However, such persons, if selected, will be allowed to join only if he/she submits the thesis within the specified deadline for joining.
Post-doctoral Position 1:
Essential: PhD in Biochemistry/Life Science in the area of cancer biology.
Desirable: Expertise (supported by publication track-records) in: primary and secondary animal cell culture techniques; molecular biology protocols including DNA/RNA isolation techniques, PCR, Western blot, immunohistochemical staining techniques, etc.; microscopic studies of animal cells; in vivo experiments with animals models of disease.
Age limit: The upper age limit is 40 years on the date of advertisement. Age relaxation of 5 (five) years will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged & Women candidates.
Post-doctoral Position 2:
Essential: PhD in Bioorganic Chemistry preferably at the interface of organic chemistry and biology.
Desirable: Expertise (supported by publication track-records) in design & synthesis of peptide or lipid-based nanoparticles for biomedical applications; familiarity in animal cell culture techniques; basic molecular biology protocols including DNA/RNA isolation techniques, PCR, Western blot, immunohistochemical staining techniques, etc. would be plus.
Age limit: The upper age limit is 40 years on the date of advertisement. Age relaxation of 5 (five) years will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged & Women candidates.
The fellowship will be offered for one year.
Fellowship: Consolidated 50,000 per month
Selection & Mode of Application
The selection will be based on the recommendations of the Selection Committee and on approval of the Competent Authority.
(B). Project Fellow position (2 No.) in the Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata
Essential: MSc/BS-MS in Chemistry/Biology
Desirable: Experience in design & synthesis of peptide or lipid-based nanoparticles for biomedical applications; familiarity in animal cell culture techniques would be a plus.
Age limit: The upper age limit is 30 years on the date of advertisement. Age relaxation of 5 (five) years will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged & Women candidates.
The fellowship will be offered for one year.
Fellowship: Consolidated 30,000 per month
