Position for Junior Research Fellow

(West Bengal Department of Science and Technology and Biotechnology sponsored project)

Applications are invited from citizens of India for filling up the following temporary position for a sponsored research project in the field of RNA biology of diseases undertaken jointly in the Department of Biological Sciences, IISER-Kolkata and Institute of Pulmocare and Research, Kolkata. The position is for a period of 1 Year. Applicants enthusiastic about research in the field of RNA and translational research are encouraged to apply. The requisite qualification & experience for the position are given below.


Project name and agency: Determination of circulating microRNA signatures of common respiratory diseases: A pilot study. Funding agency: Department of Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal.

 

Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)


Minimum Eligibility: M.Sc. in biochemistry / molecular biology / biotechnology / microbiology or equivalent. Candidates with experience in working with RNA and/or clinical samples would be preferred.

Salary: Rs. 18,700.00 per month for 12 months.

Basic Job Description: The selected candidate would be expected to work both at a clinical and research lab setting and travel between them. The work would involve collecting and documenting patient samples, RNA isolation from patient samples and determination of microRNAs using Next Gen Sequencing and quantitative RT-PCR techniques. The candidate would also be encouraged to actively associate with and learn from other work in the clinic and the lab.
